This weekend, went to the Franchising Expo at Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. Franchising is a quick entry into business for foreigners, entering Australia and from the Franchisor point of view, a great Exit Strategy for Investors, who put up money for your business. I had a specific franchise, that I was looking for and was very surprised when I didn't find any there. Was specifically looking for Entertainment and a Sports bar, thought that there would be more of them. O'Reilly Bar has a few in Melbourne, my guess is they operate under a License. The down side of Franchising is that it is quite heavily regulated, in terms of documentation and operating procedures. So ACCC and Small Biz Victoria was out in full force. Coffee, Cleaning and Gym were there in numbers also. Could not pass up the DADDY of Franchise Jim's Franchising and they are everywhere, I don't mean this in a negative way, they know how Franchise works.
Bought a Franchising data base of all Franchise in Australia and New Zealand, should come in handy when I start LOG Inn

Fashion in Fiji

This morning I posted ( cut & paste) an upcoming Model Search, that's going to be in Melbourne next year. The Group that I posted the event( a fashion group) requested that I post the media
release and when I got back to look for the post was deleted.
So I posted at other like groups so that anyone back in Fiji would have the opportunity to view the post if they fely they had option of doing something with their Modelling career.

Weekly update 13/08/2011

I should know better, having previously owned a 10 blogs, in 8 languages, not to let a week go past without posting.
So a quick update on where we at with all that is happening in our small world. A lot of projects are starting to take shape, which is very encouraging.

• Enrolled in Diploma of Financial Planning, at the International Institute of Technology, Melbourne. This will make funding films, video game development and fashion events, much easier to do with the ASIC recognized License.
• All the Manuals and Programs have arrived and are in good working order, Financial Planning, Valuations, De-Risking, Strategic Growth, Capital Raising, Risk Management, Investment Planning and Retirement and Superannuation,. The last two not so sure about.
• Have enrolled with Victoria University to do the up and coming Professional Certificate in Executive Producer, had just missed the Melbourne group and now will have to travel up to Sydney for this. Have spoken to the Project coordinator and she is really switched on regarding Film financing, having previously lived in LA.
• Have linked up with International Film Finance Org, for an Australian chapter.
  
• Have linked up with an American leasing company for Equipment leasing, for Family Entertainment Equipment, that's a Hugh Financial Relief
• Caught up with Michael Wilde and Phil Gerlach facebook friend. Thank you guys, being at the Right Place at the Right Time helps, Thank You
  

So hopefully now life becomes more sane and not in the man cave looking for clues, on where to go or things to do next. Mind Tools have really been a great asset to work with.
